Here’s something you don’t see every day, or at least I don’t. While I was browsing the field of Sunflowers, I noticed some unusual shape. Upon closer inspection it turns out it was a Praying Mantis eating another Praying Mantis.

So I’m out in the backyard today, taking some pictures of Butterflies, when I notice this Honeybee that looks like its head is stuck in between the leaves of this plant. I’m walking down the trail to the Wildflower field and noticed this large, green Spider. On closer inspection I could see this Spider was eating some type…  Since Leecy went to the Susan G. Komen walk this morning, I decided I would take a field trip back to the Houston Arboretum. As I mentioned before, I really like that place. Lots of Fritillaries were flying around, a few Monarchs, and several Skippers. There was also a beautiful Hawk hunting mice, a family… Remember Popeye’s big sailor arms? I think I found his twin in the insect world. I’ve never seen this kind of Praying Mantis before, in my backyard or anywhere else. This “killer” was actually on the garage door.
