Category Archives: White Winged DoveI apologize for not providing any pictures or updates as of late. I’ll try and take and post new pictures tomorrow. Despite the lack of pictures, I can give everyone a verbal update. The Purple Martin babies (the original 5) all seemed to have fledged now. There are probably 20 Martins flying around every night. …  I bet there are close to 10 White Winged Doves coming to the feeder every day now. I’m having to fill the feeders twice per day they are eating so much (well them and all the other birds). I’ve got 4 feeders around the yard so everyone is able to find enough to eat, but…  I “saw” two Butterflies today (Giant Swallowtail and Pipevine) but could only get pictures of the birds. Yesterday I mentioned that for the first time in my backyard I saw a White Winged Dove. Today I actually saw two of them. Here’s the White Winged Dove coming in for a landing on the bird feeder….  For the past several years we’ve had Mourning Doves and Eurasian Collared Doves. Today, towards dusk, I noticed this Dove that looked a little different than those other 2 species. As it turns out its a White Winged Dove. The colors on the Dove don’t really stand out for me, but I was especially drawn… |
