Category Archives: Indian Blanket The only Butterflies I’m seeing consistently right now are the Texan Crescent Butterflies. I’ve got to assume this drought is effecting the Butterflies. I’m doing all I can to keep the nectar plants adequately watered. Speaking of nectar plants, we pulled up the Indian Blanket Wildflowers. Most of them had finished blooming, and they were…  I saw a couple of these little Fiery Skipper Butterflies chasing each other in the Wildflower garden. If I’m not mistaken, this Butterfly is a male.  There were a pair of Horace’s Duskywing Skippers visiting our Wildflowers this morning. They would fly over to the Indian Blanket Wildflowers, then chase each other, then go back to gathering nectar.  I grabbed a few pictures of some Butterflies this morning. Many of the Butterflies are really attracted to our Wildflower Gardens. I’m also noticing that Cucumber Beetles are also attracted to some of the Wildflowers. This is a picture of a Variegated Fritillary. We see them fairly regularly in our backyard, but we’ve never really…  For the first time in my backyard I saw (and photographed) a Texan Crescent Butterfly. It appeared to be very attracted to the nectar in the Indian Blanket Wildflowers. These are probably the most abundant Wildflowers we have in our Wildflower garden. |
