I wish I could tell you what plant it seemed to be attracted to, but I have no clue. I didn’t like the two-in-one Apple tree I had, and I really wanted to plant the Wildflower Seeds I got from Wildseed Farms. Thus, I redesigned two areas. One area is where the Apple tree was located. It just had grass below the Apple…  Before I left Fredericksburg I bought to small Blue Mistflower plants since these seemed to be such Butterfly magnets. I already shared pictures of multiple Queen Butterflies feeding on the Blue Mistflower, but in going through my pictures from the week, I found this particular photo of one Queen Butterfly. Something struck me about this…  Yesterday I shared pictures of Butterflies among the Wildflowers. For a change of pace, I thought I would share some pictures I took of the Ruby Throated Hummingbirds among the Wildflowers. Before I share the pictures, let me share how difficult this was. Trying to get the camera to focus on the Hummingbirds among hundreds…  Okay, this is it. No more Queen Butterfly pictures for tonight. This is a Queen Butterfly on a Yellow Wildflower. This one is a Male Butterfly.  Are you tired on seeing Queen Butterflies on Wildflowers yet? I hope not, as I really like some of this pictures. Obviously (based on the title) this is yet another Queen Butterfly, this one on a Pink Wildflower.  Once again there were lots and lots of Queen Butterflies. Today they were not congregated around the “Bubba” Desert Willow, this time there were all around this plant called “Blue Mist” (I think that was the name). I’m going back tomorrow on my way out of town to get whatever plant this was. Update. This…  I went back out today to take more pictures of the Wildflowers. I figured if I got lucky, I’d get some nice Butterfly shots, and if I really got lucky, I’d get some Hummingbird pictures as well. Well, I got lucky! These might be some of my most favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. This is…  Most of the Sunflowers in the field had already bloomed, but of the few that were not done blooming there were a variety of insects attracted to them. In this picture is a huge Carpenter Bee on a Sunflower.  Here’s something you don’t see every day, or at least I don’t. While I was browsing the field of Sunflowers, I noticed some unusual shape. Upon closer inspection it turns out it was a Praying Mantis eating another Praying Mantis.  I saw one of the most unusual Butterfly events today. In this “Bubba” Desert Willow tree was a swarm of Queen Butterflies. There must have been around 50 Queen Butterflies flying around this tree. Personally, I’ve never heard of a “Bubba” Desert Willow and I have no idea if they are good at attracting Butterflies,…  Again this picture was taken at Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg, Texas. This picture is of a Bordered Patch Butterfly (I think) which is not common in Houston, but apparently pretty common out here in the Hill Country.
