I’m not even sure she makes any typical Parrot noises. The problem is, Coco is no dummy and she knows when a camera or video camera is pointed towards her. Then she suddenly becomes shy. I brought the birdcam inside and aimed it towards Coco’s (our African Grey Parrot) cage. This is about a 2 minute video clip, although for all practical purposes there’s not much to look at. However, you can hear…  I took a new picture of Coco today. She is still plucking, although not as bad as before. She seems to pluck more when I am around (not at work). I got the follow up call from the vet today regarding the bacteria that was found when swabbing Coco’s crop (part of a bird’s throat). She tested positive for the following bacteria: Pasteurella (Abundant growth according to test results) Corynebacterium (Moderate growth… Took Coco to the vet today to see if there might be a reason she started the feather plucking. $819.00 dollars later it turns out that Coco has a bacterial infection in her croup (I think that’s how it’s spelled). Treatment is antibacterial medication for 10 days, twice per day. I won’t know until next… No camera talk, but it is something I wanted to ask others about. Coco, our African Grey has started picking her feathers the last 2-3 days. She’s doing this with such intensity that she’s actually making herself bleed a little bit. I know African Grey’s are notorious feather pickers, but Coco has never done this… A few folks asked for some recent shots of Coco, our African Grey Parrot. I finally got around to doing just that. Coco makes very few bird sounds, she mainly just talks English. She controls all the other animals in the house.
