Category Archives: Fiery Skipper While I was out trying to take some pictures of the Dragonflies, there was this tiny Butterfly that kept darting in and out of the garden. Finally, the tiny Butterfly stopped to take a break on the pole, and I was able to identify it as a Fiery Skipper.  Active day today for Butterflies and Honeybees. They tend to fight on the Cigar Bush. We also had two Eastern Black Swallowtails hatch and one Polydamas. The Skippers were lively today as well. Last but not least, there were a couple of young Monarchs flying around. My best shot I’ve ever taken of the Fiery...  Remember Alvin, the first of Timothia’s offspring who hatched yesterday (May 22)? Today he had a brother who was born, and whereas Alvin couldn’t seem to care less about another Butterfly, his brother, Brutus, is an all out Pimp!
