So, when I got home, I…  Before I left Fredericksburg I bought to small Blue Mistflower plants since these seemed to be such Butterfly magnets. I already shared pictures of multiple Queen Butterflies feeding on the Blue Mistflower, but in going through my pictures from the week, I found this particular photo of one Queen Butterfly. Something struck me about this…  Okay, this is it. No more Queen Butterfly pictures for tonight. This is a Queen Butterfly on a Yellow Wildflower. This one is a Male Butterfly.  Are you tired on seeing Queen Butterflies on Wildflowers yet? I hope not, as I really like some of this pictures. Obviously (based on the title) this is yet another Queen Butterfly, this one on a Pink Wildflower.  Once again there were lots and lots of Queen Butterflies. Today they were not congregated around the “Bubba” Desert Willow, this time there were all around this plant called “Blue Mist” (I think that was the name). I’m going back tomorrow on my way out of town to get whatever plant this was. Update. This…  I went back out today to take more pictures of the Wildflowers. I figured if I got lucky, I’d get some nice Butterfly shots, and if I really got lucky, I’d get some Hummingbird pictures as well. Well, I got lucky! These might be some of my most favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. This is…  I saw one of the most unusual Butterfly events today. In this “Bubba” Desert Willow tree was a swarm of Queen Butterflies. There must have been around 50 Queen Butterflies flying around this tree. Personally, I’ve never heard of a “Bubba” Desert Willow and I have no idea if they are good at attracting Butterflies,…  Today was the first Queen Butterfly we’ve seen for 2010. She was laying eggs on the Milkweed. I never could manage to get a decent picture of her as she was constantly flying about. You may also notice all the Aphids on the Milkweed. I’ve tried spraying them and wiping them off by hand. I’m…  I took a weekend trip to Sheldon Reservoir since it was fairly close to the house. That place is pretty rustic compared to the parks I have been to previously. I went there mainly to try my hand at shooting some birds, but ended up taking a few Butterfly photos as well. I haven’t seen the Queen’s flying around, but have seen the Monarchs. Larger size of a different Monarch Caterpillar.
