I haven’t uploaded many videos lately so I thought I’d get back to that. There’s also a different reason. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I have several cameras positioned throughout the backyard capturing whatever wildlife may appear. On some of my cameras, I capture the video in real time to my DVR recorder. On another camera, my Wingscapes Birdcam 2.0, that camera captures images and movies through motion detection. The Wingscapes birdcam is a good camera, but they haven’t updated the camera for a few years. Also the Wingscapes camera has a somewhat low resolution for videos (640×480), and only records 10 second video clips (the most annoying feature for me personally).
This weekend I bought a Bushnell Trophy Cam (model 119446c). I’m not a hunter, so I could never use the camera for capturing deer or hogs, but I thought I would give the camera a test to see if it could capture videos from my disappearing bird stream. I was not disappointed!
What’s nice about this camera is an 8 megapixel camera that can record up to 60 seconds of video in 1280×720. I should also mention I paid $150.00 for this camera, versus the $160.00 it costs for the Wingscapes camera.
You can see for yourself what this camera can record in complete darkness. I had a little visitor in my bird stream last night.
