Today is day two of the Eastern Bluebird nest with what was 4 baby birds. I’m happy to report that the final egg did hatch.
This first picture isn’t very clear, but it is rather cute. Four of the five babies are obviously quite hungry.
As to why the fifth baby bird wasn’t so hungry? Perhaps because it has such a large meal worm in its mouth (right side of the picture)! Oh, and that meal worm came from the parents, I wasn’t attempting to feed the babies by hand.
