Today is day five of mamma Bluebird’s egg laying. Not surprisingly, she has laid five eggs.
Leecy noticed a peculiar behavior of the female Bluebird. She will be in her nest, but as soon as we open the back door, she will peer up through the nest hole. The male, always close by, will fly towards the mealworm feeder. Needless to say, we fill that up for them, and then they start eating.
After today it will be interesting. Since she has laid the average number of eggs, will she now begin incubating them, or will she lay more eggs? Tune in tomorrow for an update:-).
