I saw our first female Monarch from Mexico today! She was laying eggs on our Family Jewels Milkweed (Asclepias physocarpa). Overall, I’d say she looked pretty good considering she’s likely been alive for nearly 8 months and has traveled thousands of miles.
When I see these Monarchs from Mexico I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I always enjoy seeing them, and happy to know that they have survived for so long. The sad part is I know these Butterflies are nearing the end of their life after an incredible journey.
