We had tons of American Goldfinches around the bird feeder today. We also had a House Finch feeding as well. It’s really cold here right now so finding fresh food is a bit of a challenge right now.
Taking good pictures was a real challenge as the lighting was terrible and it was cloudy and cold all day.
Here’s the House Finch staring at me before jumping down to the bird feeder.
There must have been 20 or more American Goldfinches around the feeder today. Once one of them would be courageous enough to visit the feeder, the rest would soon follow. If something would spook them they would all scatter into the trees and then wait until they felt safe enough to return.
