Some exciting news on the baby Cardinals. They opened their eyes for the first time today. You can just see their eyes barely open from the picture that Leecy took with her camera phone.

Not only did their eyes open, but they also have learned to poop apparently. Watch the video around the 18 second area.
It’s not just the daddy Cardinal that swallows the poop, mamma does her part as well.

texdr - I would guess they were just a couple of days old in that photo. I think I’ve read that it takes about a week before they open their eyes.

I have a question though, how many days old were the babies when the opened their eyes? We have baby cardinals in our back yard that one of the babies one eye is half open.
