I thought some folks might find this helpful to get some ideas for their own Butterfly and/or Hummingbird Garden.
This is just one section of the yard, but it’s where I try and place the majority of my nectar plants for both the Butterflies and Hummingbirds.
On the left side of the picture is the Butterfly Enclosure which is being used right now to store milkweed plants. I have lots of other Milkweed plants in other sections of the yard and they all have Aphids on them and I didn’t want this set to be contaminated yet. Once the Monarchs arrive (should be any day now), I’ll rotate this milkweed with the other Milkweed.
In the middle of the picture is just a variety of Nectar plants. What you can’t see on the right, is a couple of Hummingbird feeders.

Cesar - Hi, lovely blog. I’m also in the Houston area. Do you ever get chickadees?June 21, 2010 – 8:13 am
texdr - Yep, lots of them. We see more of them in the early spring, at least in my yard. There’s still some hanging around thoughJune 21, 2010 – 11:12 am
