The happy couple started to make themselves comfortable in their new home. Actually, I counted a total of 6 Purple Martins today, but these two seemed to be especially close. My Martin house has 14 rooms so I’ve got room for 8 more. In previous years I’ve had two neighbors that have put up Martin houses, but this year they don’t have them up. Hopefully I’ll have enough room for all of them.
Perhaps it this new camera (Canon 7D) or maybe I just got lucky, but I’ve never really noticed how blue/purple these birds look.
I know I’ve said it before, but I really like these birds and how they fly around in the early morning and early evening and how they chatter all the time. Leecy is calling these two Mr. and Mrs. Roper (I have no idea why).
