Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of y’all who recently posted comments and came by to view my blog. In the past week this blog is averaging almost 50 views per day. To me, that’s fantastic! Seriously, thanks for taking the time to view my blog, comment on the pictures, or ask questions. Because of you, I have been encouraged to take better pictures and learn more about Butterflies and Butterfly Gardening. Another side benefit is in my quest to take better pictures for this blog, I have learned to explore more about wildlife and nature. That, in turn, has led me to enjoy being outdoors that much more and to really gain an appreciation for what I (and Leecy) have created in our backyard.
It seems almost unbelievable that just 6 short years ago this was a brand new house, with nothing but grass in the backyard. There was no pond, no pool, no trees, nothing, and certainly no Butterflies.

LeAnn - I was hoping this would be a ‘before’ and ‘after’ photo.
I love all of the close-ups but it would be nice to see
how you have everything set up too. I would enjoy seeing
your bird feeding station, plant layouts, etc. I am always
looking for ideas and inspiration. And who doesn’t like

texdr - Taking before and after photos of the backyard is actually easier said than done. There are so many plants and “things” in the backyard I can’t really stand in one corner and get a full shot of the yard.
