Meet “Lovey Dovey.” We’re not sure what was wrong with this little girl. The dogs found her. They didn’t hurt her, it was just obvious she couldn’t fly. We picked her up and examined her. Her wings looked fine. She did have some poop stuck to her butt, so of course I was nominated to clean that, which I did.
I also gave her a little bit of water and some of Coco’s food that I mixed in warm water. After she ate a little bit it seemed to exhaust her and she started sleeping as soon as we set her down. Still not sure if this bird is sick, hungry, or just young.
When we put her by the bird feeder to see if any of the older Doves would try and feed her, they just ignored her.
