I haven’t talked about Coco (our African Grey Parrot) in a while so I decided to take a new picture of her. As some of you may recall if you have been reading this blog for a while, Coco was very sick about 9 months ago and we nearly lost her. She developed a fungal infection (aspirgillosis) after Hurricane Ike. As I mentioned, we have been treating her for about 9 months now and she is hopefully nearing the end of her treatment. She has one vial of medication left, then back to the vet for the final analysis and determination if we can stop all medications. In her last vet visit, her blood work looked great although she probably has some slight scarring in her lungs from the infection.
Anyway, here’s a close up shot of Coco (with some left over fruit on her beak) taken with my rental lens (more on that in a moment).
