Sorry for the lack of updates. It’s like a dead zone around here in terms of any kind of wilderness. There are few birds in the backyard, few butterflies, few anything. The only thing that does seem to be rather prevalent are insects.
I even went on a 3 hour “hike” today at my secret Butterfly place in Kingwood, TX and I was only able to get one picture of an actual Butterfly. Heck, in 3 hours I only came home with about 20 pictures, and none of them are that great.
If I had to guess, and this guess has no scientific proof, I would say that the lack of general activity is due to the drought conditions we are having. Animals, birds, even Butterflies are trying to utilize as little energy as possible because there’s not much water, plants are drying up and/or dying, and it’s generally a tough environment right now.
Anyone agree, or am I just plain off my rocker?
