This guy is huge! He’s been around for a couple of years now. Every time I try and take him over to the pond (where the other frogs like to hang out) he always comes back to the pool. He normally sits in the pool skimmer at night. Today we noticed him sitting in the pool skimmer during the day potentially because it has been so hot. As I was chasing him around the pool with the net, this guy somehow jumps from the water right on to the concrete. Then he proceeds to jump over about a 2 1/2 foot fence around the garden. From this picture it’s hard to tell how big he is, but believe me, he is huge! He also can jump extremely high.
Anyone know what kind of frog this is by chance? Please don’t tell me I need to go and buy yet another book to find out:-).
After doing some online research, I think it may be an American Bullfrog and they live 7-9 years on average. Now I guess my only question is why does this guy like my salt water pool more than my freshwater pond? I would think that the salt and chlorine would bother him.
